Sepsis Present on Admission with a Major Procedure Cohort
The Sepsis Present on Admission with a Major Procedure Cohort includes all encounters with any diagnosis code for sepsis or septic shock present on admission (POA). In addition, there must also be at least one procedure with an HCUP Procedure Class of 3 or 4.
To leverage this cohort:
- Profile Filters: In the Profile Editor, add the cohort as a profile filter. With this option, you can further customize the profile with additional filters.
- Statistical Process Control: Because sepsis populations are not homogenous, this cohort is not available in this section.
